Join us as a DIN Rotating Surgeon

Help us launch a new way to deliver specialty surgery.

Doctors in Network (DIN) connects Rotating Surgeons with hospitals in underserved areas for recurring, fractional coverage. We take care of matching, scheduling, contracting, and logistics so you can focus on surgical excellence and patient outcomes.

Since we’re building our first ophthalmology cohort, we’re seeking ambitious and outcomes-oriented cataract surgeons ready to help define how specialty surgery will be practiced in the future. Joining our surgeon-led, early-stage startup means shaping our culture, systems, and workflows from day one.

Why be a DIN Rotating Surgeon?

DIN is a modern surgical staffing and logistics platform creating a new way for surgeons to practice anywhere, anytime. Our model is designed for flexibility without sacrificing continuity, outcomes, or compensation.

You’ll stay in your current city, close to friends and family, while traveling to nearby hospitals. You’ll return to the same sites, work alongside familiar teams, and build lasting relationships with your patients. It’s the freedom of traditional locums paired with the stability and trust of long-term partnerships.

As part of the inaugural cohort of DIN Rotating Surgeons, you’ll help create and validate a new surgical practice model. You’ll contribute ideas, refine processes, and see your work directly improve surgical access for the communities that need it most.

You’ll thrive at DIN if you:

  • Want to practice surgery on a part-time, 1099 basis

  • Are open to regional travel at least once a month for a minimum of one year

  • Have completed at least 750 phacos independently (post-residency or fellowship)

  • Are comfortable collaborating with local support staff

  • Are a board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist with at least 2 years of unsupervised practice

  • Hold an active medical license in good standing in at least one state

  • Share our company values (see below) and want to help build a new, flexible surgical practice model

What you’ll do as one of our first Rotating Surgeons

  • Perform a full day of cataract surgery at matched sites within driving distance of your home city

  • Travel regionally to assigned hospitals on a recurring schedule

  • Help design and improve robust pre-, intra-, and post-op phaco protocols

  • Train on-site O.R. staff and collaborate with local optometrists for co-management

  • Provide telemedicine support for pre-op evaluations and post-op complication management

  • Share feedback to support scaling and continuous improvement

Compensation and ownership

Final compensation is discussed during the offer stage and depends on the surgeon’s level of experience. The first-cohort package includes:

  • Signing bonus, delivered upon signing a one-year contract with DIN, regardless of when your first site match is confirmed

  • Fair-market-value (FMV) per diem for each O.R. day completed

  • Percentage of production after meeting a predetermined benchmark (varies by surgeon experience)

  • Equity in DIN, exclusive to first-cohort surgeons, with a front-loaded four-year vesting schedule

Our model is transparent, compliant, and designed to reward both your clinical expertise and your contribution to our growth. In certain cases of exceptional fit, we may also negotiate existing contract buyouts.

DIN Company Values

At DIN, we believe great surgeons deserve the tools, flexibility, and partnerships to do their best work. Our values guide everything we build and every partnership we form. If these resonate with you, you may be a great fit for our growing network of Rotating Surgeons.

Purpose-built technology

We develop tools to tackle the real-world coordination challenges that delay patients from receiving timely care. By streamlining logistics and scheduling, our technology enables surgeons to focus on what matters most—patient outcomes—serving as a trusted partner in care, never a replacement.

Practice without limits

We create pathways for surgeons to work anywhere, anytime, with smarter travel, recurring schedules, and the flexibility to serve more patients while maintaining continuity and connection.

Access where it matters most

We partner with hospitals to expand surgical care in the communities that need it most, delivering consistent, high-quality services without network leakage.
