Frequently Asked Questions
What is Doctors in Network (DIN)? Doctors in Network (DIN) is a modern surgical workforce platform—not a staffing agency—connecting hospitals with a vetted network of Rotating Surgeons. Our model blends the flexibility of locums with the stability of full-time roles, enabling fractional staffing, smarter hospital-surgeon matching, and expanded access to specialty care without the cost or rigidity of traditional hiring.
By prioritizing continuity, trust, and outcomes, we strengthen clinical relationships and improve patient care. DIN manages scheduling, contracting, and logistics so hospitals and surgeons can focus on what matters most: delivering high-quality care where it’s needed most.
Why DIN, and why now? The gap between surgical demand and available surgeons is growing. At the same time, many surgeons are seeking more flexible, sustainable ways to practice. DIN was built to meet both needs. By combining cutting-edge technology with a surgeon-first approach, we help hospitals unlock underused O.R. capacity while giving surgeons more control over how and where they work. It's a smarter, more scalable fractional staffing solution for a system under strain.
How does DIN work? Whether you’re a hospital, clinic, or surgeon, DIN starts with a secure portal. Each user logs in to be matched based on operating room availability, surgical needs, and geographic proximity. DIN manages the backend operations to ensure a seamless experience for all parties, while providers maintain patient ownership and clinical oversight.
What types of surgeries does DIN support? DIN currently focuses on microsurgical procedures within specialities such as ophthalmology and ENT. We work closely with hospitals to determine what is most needed in each region.
Where is DIN operating? DIN is active in select regions across the U.S. We’re expanding on a strategic basis and welcome conversations with hospitals, clinics, or state leaders interested in bringing DIN to new areas. Please reach out at contact@drs-network.com to explore opportunities in your state or region.
How much does DIN cost? DIN is a subscription-based platform. For surgeons, a low monthly fee applies once they’re onboarded and active. Hospitals and clinics pay a monthly subscription to access the platform and initiate matches. Once a match is made, additional fees—such as placement-based or time-based costs—can be negotiated based on the specifics of the arrangement.
How can a surgeon join DIN? DIN supports a flexible practice model for surgeons who want to serve in high-need areas without relocating. We match you with aligned sites and handle logistics so you can focus on patient care.

What makes DIN different from a locums or staffing agency? DIN is an end-to-end surgical workforce platform designed for continuity and scale. Our staffing and logistics model is rooted in long-term collaboration, not just one-off shift coverage. By combining technology with thoughtful coordination, we help hospitals and surgeons build sustainable partnerships that improve access to care.
